ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Gibraltar and moved to the United States in the 90's, spending many years in Southern California before settling on Orcas Island in Washington State. I've been drawn to photography since I was young, but it was the vast and varied landscapes of the American West that truly shaped my vision. Over time, my work has become less about documenting specific locations and more about capturing the feeling of being present in a place
I work primarily in black and white because it strips an image down to its essence. Without color, there's more space to notice shape, texture, light, and mood. I'm most drawn to moments of transition-misty mornings, winter light, approaching weather-when the landscape feels alive in a subtle, introspective way. My hope is that these images offer the viewer a sense of calm, connection, and contemplation.
I photograph not to document geography, but to express the feeling of being present in a fleeting moment.
Living on Orcas Island has deepened my relationship with the land. Surrounded by forest, water, and shifting skies, I'm constantly reminded of nature's quiet rhythms. The slower pace of life here has given me space to observe more closely and work more deliberately. It's a place that invites reflection, and I try to bring that same spirit into the photographs I make.
